INTERVIEW: As It Is #3 [2017]

Silent Planet’s Garrett Russell has been one of our biggest inspirations for awhile now and we’re so glad we get to post this. The new Silent Planet album, Everything Was Sound, has been out for a bit now and the way Russell describes the album is really something.

With every album, Russell paints a picture with footnotes, especially in Everything Was Sound where every song depicts another mental illness or form of psychosis. The band’s latest music video, “Understanding Love As Loss,” was extremely important for the band since it is one of the many songs that is written from another perspective, which even in our interview with the frontman, Russell states: “sometimes the most honest form of writing can be fiction because you are in every line, you don’t get to choose.”
